Hello Nature Lovers!

The Meadowlark committee has started ramping up for the festival coming on the May long weekend May 19-22, 2023
We have over 50 tours lined up and have been paying attention to your feedback about our “failings” of last year.
We are putting very explicit instructions into each description so people from outside the region don’t get lost trying to find the “pull-out past the blue church on the road that runs parallel to the highway just this side of the bridge”
We are also working on a way to get you a waiver without making you have to print it off and remember to bring it with you. The waivers are very important to our insurance company and making sure  we have one from everyone helps keep our rates reasonable and hence your ticket price reasonable.
Tour Tickets will go on sale on April 5, and a full list of the tours will be available online at that time. For local valleys’ people, the guide will have a printed version that will be in the paper on Saturday the 8th of April. That version will also be distributed to all the visitor information offices throughout the Okanagan Similkameen.
And a special treat for this year, we have managed to bring back our “Speaker Series” and for this spring we will be hosting Suzanne Simard, Author of Finding the Mother Tree, at the Venables theatre in Oliver on Saturday May 20th. Tickets for that event are limited and will also go on sale on April 5 and can be purchased through the Venables Theatre box office or their on-line purchasing service. There will be more detail on that event in the near future.
We have still more interesting things to tell you about in  future notes, but I wanted to let you know that we are hard at it, trying to make this festival a memorable one for you.
See you in the Spring!
