Happy St Patrick’s Day – Meadowlark friends!

The progress toward the festival is moving steadily forward.

We have completed the tour guide and a virtual copy can be found at www.meadowlarkfestival.ca. We are happy to offer a wide variety of tours and events to the followers of the Meadowlark.

The Adopt-a-Tour Program has been launched and those organizations and individuals that would like to support the Festival and be recognized as stewards of the land can make a simple and helpful contribution by selecting a tour that they think deserves their special attention and adopting it via the Adopt-a-Tour click button on the website. This contribution means most of the costs associated with that tour are covered by the adoption and the ticket purchase price can go 100% to the charities we support. You will also get 2 tickets to that tour so you can attend and your name or logo will appear on our website and on the meeting place sign.

We are once again, with the help of a few significant partners, able to offer a chance to win a grand prize of two (2) tickets to any where WestJet travels, or a helicopter tour of the Valley for four (4) from Topflight Tours, or a signed limited edition copy of the 2022 Meadowlark painting by local artist Lyse Deselliers which comes with a framing gift certificate from Tumbleweed Gallery. It is a great raffle with great prizes. The Raffle button on the www.meadowlarkfestival.ca website will become active on April 6 and you can get your tickets there/then. There are only 500 available so your chances are excellent.

We have over 40 tours to chose from this spring with some old favourites and some new, interesting ones. We will start bright and early on Friday May 20th and go through Monday May 23rd . You can find all of the confirmed tours on our website and you can start to make your plans now. Tickets will go on sale on April 6th , on-line only. We have had a few people asking about in-person sales, and unfortunately at the time we were organizing the payment program we had health restrictions that made it impractical to manage in-person sales. If you have difficulty accessing a computer or walking though the process, the public library has both computers and staff that can help.

We are really excited to partner with the District Wine Village in Oliver to hold an outdoor benefit concert at their beautiful facility on Enterprise drive on Friday evening May 20th. Headlining the concert will be “Under the Rocks”, a Bluegrass group from Kelowna. You can get a taste of their music at www.undertherocksband.com. Have a look at the Wine Village website to see what is waiting for you there. www.districtwinevillage.com . Tickets will be available though the Wine village website on April 6th.

And we will be holding a Gala Dinner and Auction at the Lakeside Resort on Sunday May 22nd . An amazing array of auction items to fit every budget will be offered in a silent and live auction. You can look forward to a great meal, some lively entertainment, a cash bar, and lots of wonderful things that you never knew you needed.

We are still looking for a few volunteers to help out with the tours and as cashiers at the Gala. You can step up and get a free tour for the effort of taking attendance and making sure there are no stragglers. Alternatively, you can enjoy a delicious meal and fun evening at the Gala in return for your time and effort spent to take money for the auction items sold. We will give you lessons on our new “Square transaction terminal” so people don’t need to bring a cheque book or cash.

It is lining up to be an exciting return of the Festival in 2022. We are all eager to get out there and see what we have been missing for the past 2 years.
