Our climate is changing, posing serious challenges to our vineyards and wineries. Grape growers are recovering from the 2024 frost event and applying mitigation techniques.
Benoit Gauthier, COO of Noble Ridge Vineyard and Winery, will illustrate how growers in the valley are implementing practices in response to increasingly challenging growing seasons. He will share steps taken to prepare soil and vines for extreme weather and guard against future catastrophic events. With certifications from Sustainable Winegrowing BC and Biosphere, Noble Ridge implements eco-friendly practices focusing on climate adaptation and emergency preparedness.
Join First Things First Okanagan (FTFO) for discussions about how to increase resiliency to the impacts of climate change.
FTFO seeks to educate and influence individuals and communities to strengthen climate awareness and stimulate effective action.
This outdoor event is appropriate for ages 14+, includes a walk around vineyards and optional glass of wine.
