Description Of This Tour

Ian Hunt of the South Okanagan Naturalists’ Club leads a gentle uphill hike in the South Okanagan Protected area. Experience how naturalists explore wilderness while walking through a water birch lined trail to a grove of old growth Ponderosa Pine and Douglas Fir. Lovely vistas of Blue Lake can be scene along the way. This forest is home to Pileated Woodpeckers, Great Horned Owls and Ruffed Grouse. Wildflowers, songbirds and water fowl are also a highlight. A great opportunity to identify plants.
