Description Of This Tour
Join butterfly enthusiast Sue Elwell from the Vermillion Forks Field Naturalists to learn all about our local butterflies. Beginning in the indoor classroom, Sue will guide you through a slide presentation to establish an understanding of basic butterfly classification and identification, including our local Okanagan Similkameen species. You will learn why Princeton is a butterfly haven, home to the diverse habitat and host plants that butterflies love. The second part of this tour will be outside, exploring multiple locations in the Princeton area where butterflies are commonly spotted.
Please note: the outdoor portion of this tour is weather dependent, as butterflies only come out when they can see their own shadow!
