Description Of This Tour

Conservation ecologist and author, A. Michael Bezener, leads this rare opportunity to bird at dawn at the ECOmmunity Place Locatee Lands in Penticton. This special area encompasses a complex mosaic riparian habitat found nowhere else in the Penticton area, and is home to many common and several rare and endangered species. You will see and hear a wide range of migrant and resident birds, and learn about the Syilx cultural and conservation significance of species known to inhabit the site including Yellow-breasted Chat, Western Screech-Owl, Barn Owl, Calliope Hummingbird, Lazuli Bunting, Veery and Yellow Warbler. Portable washrooms will be on site.
