Description Of This Tour
Rattlesnake researcher Stephanie Winton leads a hike in The Nature Trust of British Columbia’s White Lake Basin Biodiversity Ranch and the White Lake Grasslands Protected Area. Explore the natural habitats of amphibians and reptiles in the South Okanagan while learning about the conservation issues that many of these at-risk animals face as well as the important research that is being conducted within the White Lake Basin. Keep your eyes (and ears) open for species like the western rattlesnake and great basin gopher snake, as you learn about the variety of herpetofauna that live in this arid, northern climate.
