Description Of This Tour
Come and join members of the Penticton Dragon Boats Organization for a morning of history, culture, and paddling. You will learn about the ancient practice of Dragon-boating from its origins in Asia and its introduction to the waters of British Columbia – how it came to be associated with the Breast Cancer Foundation and how the festivals and competitions evolved. After a short safety lesson, you will be assigned a spot in the boats and go out on Skaha Lake for an exciting trip across the lake.
Learning the skills of paddling and teamwork will result in a surprisingly fast trip that will have you eager to come back for more.
Knowing how to swim is not a pre-requisite. All participants will wear lifejackets.
Please note that this tour requires a second liability waiver which will be provided and signed by each participant before you get onto the water. All necessary equipment will be provided.
It is very likely there will be splashing, and you will get wet. Dress appropriately.
Please note that the parking area immediately adjacent to the boat house is for boat launch users only. You will be ticketed for parking there. Parking is available off Elm Ave, with a short walk across the park to the boathouse.
