Mahoney Lake is a glorious place to explore in the spring with a profusion of flowers, birds and other wildlife. Margaret Holm leads this 6 km spring ramble. The group will stop frequently to explore grassland and Ponderosa forest setting. Some may want walking sticks for two short but steep downhill trail sections. Both Mahoney Lake and White Lake are interesting saline lakes with their own unique properties. Margaret will show the group cell phone apps that increase enjoyment and identification of local flora and birds. With thirty years’ experience in parks, museums and local conservation, Margaret will touch on many conservation and wildlife research topics. Group will drop cars off at both ends of trail and carpool between start and finish.
