Description Of This Tour

Join Paul Preston, WildResearch Regional Coordinator of BC Nightjar Survey as he leads a tour through the open Ponderosa Pine forest that the mysterious Nightjars of the South Okanagan call home. Learn about the Common Poorwill and Common Nighthawk, their populations in the South Okanagan and the conservation efforts aimed at helping them. Paul will also talk about the BC Nightjar Survey Program, a citizen-led, road-side survey conducted by volunteers throughout BC in June and July. Parts of this tour go to The Nature Trust of BC’s White Lake Basin Biodiversity Ranch. Photo credit: Alan Burger
