Description Of This Tour
Join Park Interpreter James Chester at the Mission Creek Regional Park for a hands-on exploration of What Lies Beneath? Armed with sieve, a bowl, and a magnifying glass, you will discover the many critters that make their home in a pond!
A short walk will lead you to one of several ponds that the dot the park near Mission Creek. James will provide you with all you need to discover many interesting creatures that live beneath the surface of the water, and you will learn how these small bodies of water are a vital and vibrant ecosystem in the Okanagan.
This is an easy hike 1 km hike. Biting insects do live near ponds, so insect repellent and long sleeves/pants are recommended. All equipment for pond study will be provided for use.
