Learn more about the 120,000 hectare sməlqmíx Protected Area (Where The Four Sacred Ecosystems Connect) that was declared in 2022 by the Lower Similkameen Indian Band. Traditional Knowledge Keepers and LSIB staff will lead participants on a journey through sməlqmíx story and connection about this sacred, yet vulnerable protected land that is one of the last pristine watersheds in sməlqmíx territory. After touring nearby restoration sites, we will enjoy lunch (provided) and a send-off back at the campground.
