Join Mandy Brown, Integrated Pest Management and Pollination advisor with Plant Products, and Tyler Nelson, Insect Collection Curator at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, on a family-friendly walk in Summerland to check out some of the beautiful and hard-working insects of the Okanagan. Mandy and Tyler will begin with a short, interactive presentation on native bees and butterflies, where you will get to see preserved museum specimens of insects of the Okanagan and a live bumblebee hive. You will then explore a gentle trail on Cartwright Mountain to look for these insects in their natural habitat and get to play a game of Bug Bingo. There should also be nice wildflower viewing on this walk and we will have snacks for the kids.

Please note: we will proceed with the tour whether it is raining or sunny, but if it is raining there will be very few insects visiting the flowers.
