Join us for a welcoming and accessible introduction to birding, designed for beginners and those looking to deepen their connection with nature through birds. Led by visiting birders Khalid Boudreau & Trenton Schulz-Franco from the Special Bird Service (SBS), this workshop will cover the essentials: choosing binoculars and spotting scopes, using field guides and digital apps, and developing foundational bird identification skills.
Following an engaging discussion, we’ll head out for a guided birding walk through Sun-Oka Provincial Park and Trout Creek, exploring a variety of habitats, including lakeshore, cottonwood thickets, ponderosa pine stands, and nearby cliffs. This is a great opportunity to learn alongside others, build confidence in birding, and experience the joy of observing birds in a supportive, community-oriented setting.
