As a home to over 350 different species of native bees, the Okanagan-Similkameen is a bee diversity hot-spot! Join the Osoyoos Desert Centre staff to learn about these important pollinators while you build your very own mason bee house. This workshop includes materials and step-by-step instructions to build your take-home bee house, as well as information on cleaning and caring for the bees that your house will shelter, and how to make your garden pollinator-friendly. This workshop is open to family members of all ages and participants can work as a team or on their own. While materials are provided, please bring your own power drill or screwdriver (#2 Robertson). After the workshop, you are invited to tour the Desert Centre on your own to learn more about our local ecology. These workshops sell out fast, so be sure to book early!
Each $30 adult ticket includes supplies to make one mason bee house.
