How can we gently evolve our housing stock to face the challenges of the modern world, without sprawling onto the hillsides? Join local architect Chris Allen for a tour through two recently completed houses on the edge of Penticton. The tour will start beside the KVR, where a 1970’s suburban house has been re-envisioned as an eco-home, set into a naturalized landscape. We will then head up to Munson Mountain, where an existing farmhouse has been turned inside out, with the former foundation becoming a courtyard garden and pool, surrounded by a super-efficient dwelling, and opened up to panoramic views of the valley.
