Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) and Important Bird Areas (IBA) are some of the most important places in the world for species and their habitats. Join Doreen Olson and Alex Bodden, local naturalists, to enjoy great views of the ecologically important oxbows at the north end of Osoyoos Lake, an amazing wetland area for bird watching and a locally significant IBA that is recommended for KBA status. As a local IBA Caretake, Alex will share his inspiration and knowledge of the IBA program and the species that this area supports. You will have the opportunity to see rare and interesting birds, learn history from early ranching days, and view the original burrowing owl release site. This recently restored trail is a relatively flat and easy going walk. A great opportunity for beginner birders to learn with the experts! Suitable for ages 8+.
