Tour Leaders: Tanya Luszcz and Darlene Hartford
MNF Waiver: Every person must sign this waiver here
Join bat biologist Tanya Luszcz for a guided tour for all ages and abilities. We will walk along a gentle forest trail and learn about Okanagan bats, their habitat, food, and characteristics along with many interactive stories. The group will also take the opportunity to do some “guerrilla gardening” with Darlene Hartford of the Bat Education and Ecological Protection Society (BEEPS). We will be making and distributing “seed bombs” to distribute along a hillside on the bat house trail where wildflower meadows were destroyed during the installation of water lines. The group will then end the evening at the Peachland Historic School to view live footage of five cameras strategically placed in the attic. Watch and count as the Yuma’s and Little Brown Bats wake up and exit the building for nightly foraging.
